Visual Designer

THE ROLE

As a Visual Designer you will have the responsibility for the overall design of multiple digital products as well as the design system that drives some of them. This includes the definition of the tone, the visual style and the patterns across platforms. You will oversee simultaneous products from inception to completion, including establishing the visual design. Your job is to create high fidelity designs based on our user centred design process for new features as well as ongoing enhancements.

Also in this role you will partner closely with the UX team to determine how to grow best the visual design and user experience at BI X. Furthermore you will gain in-depth knowledge about the UX design process and be developed to fully work on products on your own.

DESIRED SKILLS & MINDSET

You are a champion and evangelist of design. You don’t watch the trends – you set them, ensuring the highest quality of visual design for our customers is your priority. You love to work in a team and closely with your UX Designer colleagues with a professional presence and the ability to give direction in all visual design related questions.

PREREQUISITES

  • At least of 3 years of experience in digital product design strategies, techniques and execution (e.g. illustration, Icons, style guides, design systems, infographics and data visualization)
  • English working proficiency and communication skills (verbal and written)

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

  • Proficient in the use of current design tools (e.g. Photoshop, Sketch, InDesign, Illustrator, Principle, InVision)
  • Possess a strong visual sense and artistic skills
  • Excellent understanding of colour theory, typography and design principles

NON-TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

  • You are in touch with the latest trends and share your insights with the team to convince them to more innovative solutions.
  • To achieve the best result is your driver and you love to pay attention to the details.
  • You are passionate about user experience and keep the customer in mind when designing solutions as a constant compass for your quality mindset.
  • While working very structured to meet multiple deadlines you are also able to juggle projects of varying levels of complexity, as well as scope.
